Robert Joseph Carpenter III
Robert Joseph Carpenter III (Bobby Carpenter) is a central Ohio legend. Carpenter was a standout athlete in high school for the Lancaster Gales coached by his father Rob Carpenter. This is where he caught the attention of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Bobby started for The Ohio State Buckeyes as a true freshman in 2002. Ohio State went on to win a BCS National Championship that same year. Carpenter was also named to the All-Big Ten team in 2004 and 2005.
Bobby went on to become a first round pick in the NFL by the Dallas Cowboys. In total he played 7 seasons with the Cowboys, Rams, Dolphins, Lions, and Patriots.
In 2013, Bobby joined 97.1 The Fan in Columbus for ESPN. Currently, he is co-hosting the morning show, Morning Juice, from 6am-9am. He also makes frequent appearances both on tv and radio on multiple other networks and podcasts including ESPN, Big Ten Network, and Fox Sports.
Some of Bobby’s other passions are giving back to the community. He is a board member for the 2nd & Seven Foundation. This foundation was created to promote literacy and positive role models to the youth in Columbus, Ohio.
He is also heavily involved in the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. The Buckeye Cruise for Cancer is a non-profit organization that supports the Urban & Shelly Fund for Cancer. Over the last 14 years, Buckeye Cruise for Cancer has raised over $25 million for The Ohio State University Compressive Cancer Center (OSUCCC – James).
